Basic Facts - Challenge

Today for math, I have practiced my up to 20 addition and subtraction, basic facts. I have done well on practicing my basic facts. I'm looking forward on doing on, up to 100 basic facts challenge. I have enjoyed doing this activity.

Math Challenge

Today for Maths Mr Wong. We continued doing Mr Wong's challenge. This time I have different questions.  I also did the subtraction questions. This has challenged me a lot and fun at the same time. This challenge is fun because you can use different strategy's.

Maths - Strategy

Today for Maths Mr Wong has created an addition and subtraction challenge for us. This challenge is very fun because it makes you think properly and you can use any strategy you learnt. This really helped me a lot on my addition skills. 

Adding Decimals

Today I created a DLO showing how I solve Decimals question. The question I solved was 3.1 + 6.3. The answer was 9.4. This shows how to solve decimal equations easily by using addition and subtraction. Using this strategy is really easy to do because you just need to use addition and subtraction, I enjoyed learning this strategy. 

Maths - Scale Drawing

Last week we have been doing scale drawing. I have done this activity last year and drew a Pokemon character. I have googled a character and drew Todoroki. We have the same rules just like last year. The challenging part is when you have to draw the characters parts square by square. The ratio is the same as last year. The best thing about this activity is when you starting to color and finishing the drawing and the character you drew is just like the picture. I had fun doing this activity.

Today Aaung Naing and I worked collaboratively to complete this DLO. This DLO shows you we solve algorithms questions and explaining it. This is a strategy helps us solve bigger numbers and by the help of HTO stands for thunderer, tens and ones. 

Who Wants To Be a Mathionaire?

Today for math challenges we played a game called Who Wants To Be a Mathionaire. This game is about a you answering your times table, there is a board of money at the side. Each answer you get right you will climb up to $1,000,000. If you get all of the questions right you will have $1,000,000. If you get one answer wrong will need to to start over again. This was very a very cool activity to play. Link to the game.

M&M'S

This week for maths with Mr Johnston, we made a google presentation about M&M's. The people that is in our group are Dallas, Jericho, Christopher, and Savelina worked collaboratively to complete the task. We first predict on how many m&m colors are in a small packet. We then made a bar graph and a pie graph to show what is the most color in our groups packet and green was the popular color in our packet.  The bar graph shows the percentage , of how much of the yellow M&M's we had. We then used our smart searching skills to find out about the history of the M&M's, how are M&M's and facts. The most intersecting fact that we had read was that red M&M's disappeared in a decade. We then compared Mars Co and M&M's. The closes one was red and orange. We had fun doing this activity with Mr Johnston. 

Maths Strategy - Division

Today for maths Joshua and I created a DLO about using our 10 times table to solve division equations. This DLO shows you how we solve division problems. Using 10 times table to solve my division makes it easier for me to solve. I have enjoyed learning a new strategy. 

9 Times Table - Strategy

Today for maths Joshua and I created a DLO about 9 times table and how to solve it easier by using the 10 times table. This DLO has a video of me explaining the solving the equation and how it works.  

Example:    9 x 7 = 63

                   7 x 10 = 70 

                   70 - 7 = 63 

Pencil Code

Today for maths we used a site called Pencil Code. We used this site to make different types of shapes by using numbers and angles. There is a lot of different commands to make the turtle run around and making shapes. The shapes that I made with commands are Square and triangle. Using the codes in Pencil Code are the same as angle language because there is forward, left, right and backwards. Using this site made me learn how to use maths word propperly properly. Place Value - Multiplication

Today Joshua and I used a strategy called place value to solve a multiplication equation. We wrote a story problem, and then we used our place value strategy to solve it. Joshua and I did well on this activity and had lots of fun.

Maths - Table Conga

Today for maths we have been practicing our time s table. So the game I chose to play today was Tables Conga. It is about me collecting the right numbers so I could beat game but there was viruses trying to stop you from collecting the right numbers. The times tables I chose to learn my 9 times tables. 

Place Value (Take away)

This week for maths Joshua and I recorded our place value (take away) Strategies to solve an equation easily. To answer our question we used place value as our strategy and using screencastify to record our thinking. Using this strategy makes your place value equations easier

Blog Post Analysis

This week for maths we analyzed the amount of blog post I posted ever since 2016. We used google sheet to create a graph to show how much blog post I have posted. In 2016 I only posted 97 blog posts because I have not been focused, and I did not know how blogs worked that time.
2017 started and ended of really well because I managed to post 107 blog posts. This is a great improvement. I've was able to post 109 blog post because I was able to focus and I knew how blogs work. This year my goal is to get more than 107 and also post more than 300 blog posts.

Maths Strategy ScreenCastify

This week Joshua and I created a DLO about a problem solving. Mrs Anderson gave us a problem that we need to solve. We can use any strategy to solve a maths problem. Our problem involved times tables,adding to solve the problem. The most challenging part about this was to recorded and to pick a strategy to use. l like doing this activity with Joshua.

Screencastify- What Is A Fraction

Last week we used Screencastify to record our maths learning. To create Screencastify, firstly I wrote a script about my work, then recorded my work on the app. It is important to talk clearly. 

Maths Expedite

 Today at maths we have the choice to pick a math game, I chose this game called expedite and it really helped me improve my times table and helped me remember my times table quickly. 

Revision- Table Master

 Today at maths we have a choice to pick a maths game, I chose Transum and I played the game called Table Master. Table Master has helped me remember my times table quickly.
