Pencil Code

Today for maths we used a site called Pencil Code. We used this site to make different types of shapes by using numbers and angles. There is a lot of different commands to make the turtle run around and making shapes. The shapes that I made with commands are Square and triangle. Using the codes in Pencil Code are the same as angle language because there is forward, left, right and backwards. Using this site made me learn how to use maths word propperly properly. I really had fun doing this activity. Link To Pencil Code

2 Words In 1 Minute - Winter Olympics

In Winter Olympics Pyeongchang North Korea. There is an event where people from 55 different countries  gather and compete, also have teams. the games that had teams in it are ice hockey and curling. Winter Olympics has different equipment and different type of sport for them to play or for them to use. The Equipments are for safety, and if it’s not used you will not able to participate . If you lost a game show respect to the winners. Winner respect people that lost too. The slogan was passion connected. Olympics started at the 9th of February to the 25 of march. The logo of the Winter Olympics stands for heaven, earth and gathering together, also there are 3 different types of medal and they are gold, silver, bronze.

Today we used the ‘2 words 1 minute’ challenge to write a description about the Winter Olympics.
After talking in pairs about the things we knew about the winter Olympics we created a list of words
(vocabulary) that would help us write our description. We chose the words ‘equipment’ and ‘respect’
to help us think about what we were going to write.

We talked about ideas with a partner, then we had 1 minute to put those ideas into sentences.
We had to try our best to use all the words on our vocab list. After the minute was up we had 2
minutes to reread what we had written and make changes if anything didn’t make sense, or if we
had words and punctuation in the wrong place. When we finished checking we had 2 more
minutes to carry on writing our descriptions.

All of the words that I highlighted in my paragraph were on my word list. I made sure that my writing made sense, my capital letters were in the right place and I tried hard to use the word list. I need to make sure that I remember to use powerful words and full stops in the right place.

This graph shows you my Read Theory progress. I have been doing read theory last year and this year, and started off in level one. I have worked my through to level level 6 and it is my highest level currently. Read Theory is where you read different types of stories and answering questions about them. Mostly there are 4 answers to choose from. I think can do better because I started off in level 1 to level 6, passed 288 questions. I am happy with my progress from last year to this year.

Sadly Professor Stephen Hawking passed away last week, 18 of March 2018. I have created this DLO to show who he was, why he was famous, and facts about him. In this task we focused on using our own words and attributing images of Professor Stephen Hawking.
