This DLO shows you my drawing from paper and using tools in google drawing. Iv'e come with an idea to draw a half robot and samurai drawing. Iv'e written a short meaning about steampunk. I have learnt a lot of information about steam punk. Iv'e also enjoyed doing this activity. In this activity we worked in groups and our group we choose to do the Mining during Victorian time. In my group I have been working with Joseph, Carl and Freeman. There are lots of young people working that time, one of the easiest job that they can do is the trapper it is the easiest job for young people they just open and close the door so there is a fresh air coming in the mine, but there is one negative thing about this job, it is going to be boring if you open and close the door everyday.

For Inquiry, Miki, Julian, Nevaeh and I worked together as a group to complete the Maori Battalion Timeline DLO. This shows the timeline of the Maori Battalion's time on the battle field. We all show a lot of respect to the people who have fought for our king and country. The white skin and the dark skin people were separated. They also have different jobs the British got the better jobs and the Maoris got the worst and least paying jobs after the war. In the battlefield they worked as a team and became friends. Then went their separate ways.

Wovles
This week was Book Week Mrs Anderson gave us a task. First we read one of Emily Gravett's books called
Wolves. Our class enjoyed the book. After reading the book we made a DLO based on wolves. We were to make
a table: One side which had what we think about wolves and the other side saying what is true about wolves.
For example if the myth was Wolves and dogs are related we were to search up if it was true or not and tell why.
I really had a fun time doing this.

By listening to the story we took information from there and made a blog post about MeerKats. We have learnt a lot about MeerKats including where they live and what they like to eat. They like to eat snakes and eggs, but they prefer scorpions because their nice and crunchy. They are cute and friendly animals that almost nobody know about. The next blog post is going to be about wolves and we're going to do the same thing that we did with this blog post, listening to the story and creating a blog post about them.

In the desert it is very hot and dry. A strong wind of sand can make you blind,
it is called a sandstorm. Camels have hair inside and outside of their ear to prevent
sand getting in the ear. They grow 2 sets of eyelashes and have nostrils that close
to protect them from these conditions.

Water is very rare in the desert. Camels get water from the cactus plant which
is why they have thick lips as this helps them to avoid sharp thorns that get
in their way. Food and water is not easy to find in desert conditions so camels
have a hump that stores fat. This fat is later used for energy and hydration
when the camel is tired and thirsty.

Our task was to delete the informal words on the first letter to Mr Johnston, then delete the formal words on second letter to James letters. You can use formal letters by writing a greeting card, email a work mate or your boss, parents and grandparents. I understand that informal letters is use to message friends and family and glossary list. The top example is a formal letter because it uses ' I am writing to complain', 'condition of the playground' and 'a great deal of litter' and the bottom example is an informal letter because it says 'How are you', 'dead busy' and 'to get ready'.

How To Make A Hangi
How To Make A Hangi
A Hangi is a Traditional Maori earth oven. To cook a Hangi it takes 3 to 5 hours to cook. You can also make this dish on special occasions like Celebrating birthdays or a Christmas dinner.
Firstly, stack up the woods and burn the stack of wood so it can heat up the iron which helps the food cook. Then say a karakia to bless the environment, people, and the food. You need to use volcanic rocks because if you use normal rocks it’ll explode.
After burning the wood, dig up a hole which can fit the basket that has the food in it and transfer the iron or volcanic rocks into the pit. The iron will be placed at the very bottom. Put the wet cabbage leaves to create the steam. Put the basket filled with stuffing, chicken, pork, beef, and vegetables into the pit.
Then place the wet sacs onto the side of the pit so that the dirt won’t fall in. Put the tarpaulin on top of the food. Cover the tarpaulin with dirt so that the steam won’t come out. Wait about 3 to 5 hours until the food gets cooked.
After waiting for 3 to 5 hours remove the dirt, tarpaulin and wet sacs. Then carefully take out the basket filled with foods. This shows how the Maori people cook Hangi. A Hangi is usually prepared by woman and the men cooks.
Today for writing we wrote about how to make a Hangi. This writing explains on how to make a Hangi step by step. We first watch a video explaining how to make a Hangi. I learnt a lot from doing this. I learnt that woman prepares the Hangi and the men cooks the Hangi. I really enjoyed doing this writing.
